Our Research
The findings have been published in a doctoral book, two journal articles, three conference papers and have been presented at over 50 international and national events and conferences. Art exhibitions have been held in France, Japan, Belgium, Colombia, and the Netherlands. The research revealed how virtual characters significantly influence users' cognition, empathy, and immersion. We presented this innovation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and various global VR events.

Research Book
Our experience was developed by Alexandra Sierra, a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence at Tilburg University (2015-2022). This research was funded by MinCiencias (Colciencias) in Colombia and focused on creating empathetic educational tools with social and educational impact, exploring the potential of advanced technology (smartphones, computers, virtual reality, metaverse, and artificial intelligence) for immersive education on climate change. This research led to a narrative centered on climate change through the eyes of animals and nature, which gained media attention in both Colombia and the Netherlands.
